Enabling end-to-end synchronization of product data across the entire supply chain
St. Albans/Cologne, United Kingdom/Germany — April 23rd 2012 — Building upon the relationship announced in January, where LANSA and SA2 Worldsync are partnering to deliver on-boarding solutions to the GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN), today it was announced that SA2 Worldsync has certified LANSA’s Product Information Management (PIM) software – Data Sync Direct – for connection to the SA2 Worldsync data pool. This means that suppliers can now fully realise the benefits of participating in the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) through machine-to-machine (source to recipient) product data synchronization.
"Ensuring data quality in the supply chain is a major hurdle to improving efficiency and lowering operating costs", commented Martin Fincham, Chief Operating Officer of LANSA. "It is critical for ensuring service quality within e-commerce, reducing order to cash times with trading partners and minimising the cost to serve. The use of the GDSN, and the adoption of GS1 standards, is critical to achieving these business efficiencies.
"Our partnership with SA2 Worldsync demonstrates our commitment to helping businesses to benefit from this core piece of global infrastructure. By achieving this certification, LANSA has once again underlined our leading position in the GDSN on-boarding market."
For SA2 Worldsync, the partnership with LANSA is another great example how trading partners can profit from trusted data all over the world. Nihat Arkan, Chief Executive Officer of SA2 Worldsync states: "With this partnership trading partners all over the world have one more possibility to send high quality data. Our GS1 certified data pool guarantees LANSA`s customers to provide trusted data and profit from innovative solutions in the field of Global Data Synchronization, for example for e- and m-commerce. With 16 GS1 Member Organizations using our exclusive technologies and services up to now, we ensure not only the highest quality but also guarantee to meet all required standards and furthermore provide customers with the most relevant industry, supply chain, and local-market knowledge."
The promise of GDSN is the elimination of bad data in the supply chain to improve on shelf availability of products, reduce order to cash times and drive efficiency. As an integrated solution, LANSA Data Sync Direct maintains data quality and sustains master data management (MDM) policies through the supply chain. The product information stored in your enterprise systems is the same information that is synchronized with trading partners globally, providing a single version of the truth across the entire supply chain.
LANSA Data Sync Direct can now support all of the Data Pools across the globe that utilise the SA2 Worldsync technology and provide a fully ERP integrated, machine-to-machine GDSN solution. The list of supported Data Pools includes GS1 UK (TrueSource Premium), GS1 Germany, GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg (Central Data Bank – CDB), GS1 Denmark (DADAS A/S) and GS1 Italy (Catalogo Indicod-Ecr).
In the certification process LANSA Data Sync Direct was tested against the SA2 Worldsync data pool WS2, a GS1 certified data pool environment. This resulted in LANSA becoming a SA2 Worldsync certified application partner for data source. The process tested the interaction with the SA2 Worldsync data pool through the sending and receiving of specific GDSN and non-GDSN messages, ensuring that the necessary operations are performed.
By using the current GDSN Business Message Standard, test cases were created for GDSN and proprietary SA2 Worldsync messages. The test cases covered GDSN functionalities such as party registration, item registration, item subscription, item notification, RFCIN messaging, item sync list capability, and the handling of special GDSN item attributes and extensions.
