Enabling end-to-end synchronization of product data across the entire supply chain, LANSA's Product Information Management (PIM ) is poised to expedite adoption for the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)
St. Albans/Cologne, United Kingdom/Germany — August 21, 2012 — LANSA today announced the immediate availability of its Product Information Management (PIM) Solution for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, that offers easy and smooth access to the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) via a machine-to-machine connection.
The LANSA PIM solution is easy and fast to implement, allowing trading partners to immediately comply with GS1 standards and to be ready to exchange product item data over the GDSN. An important benefit to the customer is that product data can be directly synchronized between enterprise systems of a supplier and a retailer with a machine-to-machine connection to the GDSN – without error-prone or manual product data entry on either side.
"Global Data Synchronization is becoming more widely adopted across the globe and is being accepted as the enabler for publishing and consuming ‘right first time’ product information”, said Ian Piddock, Head of Marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa at LANSA. “Across Europe we are beginning to see more GS1 initiatives being launched across sectors such as Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Foodservice, DIY, Consumer Electronics, Healthcare and Cosmetics, which is building momentum in the industry that can no longer be ignored. LANSA’s entrance into the GDSN-market in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (D.A.CH) is aimed at sustaining this momentum and supporting GS1 initiatives."
"For the first time in this market, organisations have the possibility of a rapid and cost-effective PIM implementation, which includes a machine-to-machine connection to the GDSN", explains Martin Fincham, CEO of LANSA. "Furthermore with Data Sync Direct we deliver a solution that is already provenby over 300 organisations in other markets. In fact, LANSA became, within a very short time, the largest GDSN on-boarding partner of GS1 U.S. subsidiary 1SYNC."
Ulf Adebahr, Director Sales & Implementation at GS1 Germany and COO at SA2 Worldsync, explains: "Data Sync Direct with its SA2 Worldsync certified GDSN connector is well prepared to assist industry and trading companies in Germany in the so called "Umsetzungsinitiative" (transition initiative) of GS1 Germany, which aims to switch from the former SINFOS data pool standard to SA2 Worldsync’s GDSN certified data pool."
In the D.A.CH region, LANSA's Data Sync Direct product portfoliois represented by Bayard Consulting: "We have experience in PIM and Master Data Management (MDM) projects for more than 15 years now" stated Björn Bayard, CEO of Bayard Consulting. "We are excited to represent LANSA in this region and to provide our clients not only with software, but also consultancy in relation to necessary changes in organisation, processes and IT infrastructure."
The first opportunity to see the Data Sync Direct PIM in action is the ECR Tag, which will take place on the 5th and 6thof September in Germany, Wiesbaden. Representatives from Bayard Consulting and SA2 Worldsync will be available for demonstrations and discussions.
