EPC792 Highlights

EPC792 delivers enhancements and corrections for the LANSA for the Web Administrator.

EPC792 and EPC791 should be considered as a pair of EPCs to be installed along with EPC790.

Several enhancements and fixes described in other EPCs (790 and 791) require EPC792 to complete the support and/or correction, including the following items :

new weblet std_largelist
- Support for large lists when using the new weblet std_largelist. std_largelist is delivered in EPC790. To run a WAM that uses std_largelist, you must first use the Web Administrator (updated in this EPC792) to enable output pre-formatting.
disappearing layouts
non-responding first connection
- A new option "Connection Check" enables multiple attempts to detect a non-responding TP job. This option completes the support for first connection failure issue described in EPC791.

Description

This EPC provides enhancements and fixes to the LANSA Web Administrator as detailed in "EPC792 includes this change".

Instructions to install the EPC

EPC792 installs directly from the self-extracting zip file in which it is delivered.

It is recommended to backup your LANSA webutil folder before applying this EPC. Refer to 4.8.1 Choose Root Directory in the LANSA Online documentation for the directory where the LANSA software has been installed.
Before installing the EPC you should stop using the LANSA development environment and stop all currently executing LANSA applications. If the EPC install finds files locked when it attempts to replace them a warning will be issued and the install will stop.
Double-click on EPC792.exe.
A message box will be displayed from which you should select the "Setup" button or "Cancel" if you do not want to proceed.
If you have multiple configurations installed:
- Before the EPC is installed a dialog box will be displayed listing the available LANSA configurations on your machine. Select the configuration to which the EPC is to be applied.
- When you have selected the correct configuration and pressed OK the EPC will be installed.
Details of the EPC are recorded. You can view these details by using the Help/Product Information menu option from inside the LANSA development environment, then click the EPC button.

CCS id.	Description
127168	New setting in Web Admin to enable detection of dead TP connection. The Connection Check setting determines how many times there will be an attempt to check for a non-responding TP connection. The higher value the longer possible delay for each Web request. It is therefore recommended to use a lower value, if possible. Note that on iSeries a higher value can be especially useful. The default value is once. This setting completes support for the fix for failing first Web connection as delivered in EPC791 for the IIS Plugin.
127193	Corrected problem that causes a layout to "disappear" from the designer when a list is removed. Windows environmental changes, for example, applying Microsoft's IE6 security patch 916281 can cause the styles, which are imported using an @import directive, to become unavailable in the XSL Editor's Design view. LANSA has implemented a change to avoid the impacts of such environmental changes. To achieve the full fix, you are required to apply the LANSA for the Web IIS Plug-in shipped in EPC791 in conjunction with the std_style.xsl installed with EPC790 or later to the Visual LANSA environment. This Web Administrator change allow for updating the settings to control which CSS files are resolved by the LANSA for the Web IIS Plug-in. By opening the Plug-in's configuration file and choosing CSS Filter... from the Tools menu, this option can be configured to suit specific needs. This feature has limitations which are specified in the LANSA Web Administrator Help. Note: This solution will not work if the XSL Editor is using an iSeries Web server for the Design mode.

126001	Web Administrator unnecessarily validates default values of ReadyToUse. Web Administrator no longer validates default values of ReadyToUse when saving the settings if the option is turned off.
126129	Enable/disable WAM pre-formatted output. Pre-formatted output is only required if you use the Large List weblet (std_largelist). To use the std_largelist weblet, uncheck the "Disable pre-formatted output" option using the Web Administrator.
