LANSA for the WEB uses a file located in QGPL called DC@W05. That file was created with the parameter Reuse deleted records (REUSEDLT) set to *NO. This means that when DC@W05 records are deleted, the space those records were using will not be made available for other records to be inserted. Records in DC@W05 are created and deleted many times.

Customers should change DC@W05 so that it it reuses it's deleted space. To do this you can execute the following AS/400 command:

CHGPF FILE(QGPL/DC@W05) REUSEDLT(*YES)

The next time you run a LANSA reorg the deleted space will be reclaimed. Alternatively you may choose to execute the AS/400 command RGZPFM to reorganize DC@W05. If so, please remember before executing either the LANSA reorg or the RGZPFM command to:

  1. Run a LANSA cleanup of the system
  2. Stop the Web server
