Description:

Attempting to start JSM gives the following error in the log:

JSM instance has failed check process

When the JSM instance starts, a check is made for the existence of required sub-directories below the instance directory. This error can be generated when a required directory is not present.

Solution:

The existence of the following required sub-directories is made:

  • classes
  • jar
  • properties
  • system
  • temp
  • trace

If any one of these directories are not present then the check fails and the above error is shown. You will need to create (reinstate) the deleted directories in order for JSM to start.
