Description:
Special characters such as the copyright sign or register sign may not be entered correctly into the HTML Editor. When the page is viewed via a browser the special character has changed and is not what was expected.
For WWW applications, the default set of printable characters is the 8-bit ISO Latin-1 (also known as ISO 8859-1) character set. A browser or other Web application will assume that text based information is written using the ISO Latin-1 character set, unless some other character set is specified.
The following table is not a full list of all available ISO Latin-1 characters, which can be found by referring to the appropriate documentation. It is a list of only those characters with associated Entity Reference names.
