Keystrokes available in the LANSA for Windows Component Editor

Component Source Editor Keystrokes

The Component Editor supports the standard range of keyboard keystrokes for editing programs, for example Ctrl + X to cut some marked text, Shift + Insert to insert some text from the clipboard etc. In this case the program is an RDML/X function.

The Component Source Editor also has some extra keystrokes which are exclusive to this editor. Below are lists of keystrokes grouped by categories.

1. For moving around the editor using the keyboard

HomeMoves the cursor to start of line
EndMoves the cursor to end of line
Home x 2Moves the cursor to top of page
End x 2Moves the cursor to end of page
Home x 3Moves the cursor to top of document
End x 3Moves the cursor to end of document
Ctrl + HomeMoves the cursor to top of document
Ctrl + EndMoves the cursor to end of document
Ctrl + DeleteDelete one word at a time

2. Marking blocks

Shift + Left ArrowMark/Unmark from current cursor position one character at a time towards the left
Shift + Right ArrowMark/Unmark from current cursor position one character at a time towards the right
Ctrl + Shift + Left ArrowMark/Unmark from current cursor position one word at a time towards the left
Ctrl + Shift + Right ArrowMark/Unmark from current cursor position one word at a time towards the right
Shift + Up ArrowMark/Unmark from current cursor position up 1 line at a time
Shift + Down ArrowMark/Unmark from current cursor position down 1 line at a time
Shift + EndMark/Unmark from current cursor position to end of line
Shift + HomeMark/Unmark from current cursor position to start of line
Shift + Page UpMark/Unmark from current cursor position up 1 page

3. Component Source Editor Exclusive Keystrokes

With Code Marked:

Alt + Up ArrowChange currently marked code to Uppercase
Alt + Down ArrowChange currently marked code to Lowercase

Without Code Marked:

Alt + Up ArrowChange the next character after the current cursor position to Uppercase
Alt + Down ArrowChange the next character after the current cursor position to Lowercase
Press F4 on CommandStarts the Command Parameters Prompter for the current command that the cursor is positioned on (this cannot work for the SET command)

4. Others

Click mouse on line numberMarks line of code
Place mouse on left area in front of command and ClickMark/Unmark this line of code. As you pass the mouse over more commands these also get marked/Unmarked

Some of the shortcuts listed above can also be used via the menu options on the Edit Menu. For example, you can start the Command Prompter by selecting this option from the Edit Menu. However, there are also other options which can be used, for example, Undo, Redo, Select All, Find etc. Please note that all these options on the Edit Menu also have shortcut keystrokes e.g. Find Next – Ctrl + N.
