Due to the installation procedures of Office 2000 now, there may be a problem when trying to use the OV_WINWORD built-in function if running Windows 9x and using Office 2000.
The new installation procedures do not set the path automatically for Windows 9x versions as in previous Office versions and when the built-in function is executed, this error may appear:
Operating system error (2) was detected when attempting to load WINWORD.EXE (ie: MS Word).
The most likely cause of this error is that WINWORD.EXE cannot be found in the .EXE search path currently specified for the system. Alter the system configuration so that WINWORD.EXE can be found and attempt this operation again. For a technical description of error (2) refer to comments in source file U_BIF990.C
Include the path for Microsoft Office in the Autoexec.bat file.
In Windows 9x, it is the autoexec.bat file which is used to set paths and environment variables. This addition will ensure that Microsoft Word will be found when it is executed from applications.
