How to remove function descriptions on the browser

Function descriptions can be removed so that it does not appear on the browser.
There is a value in the system definition data area DC@A01, at position 421 which can be changed to N for function descriptions not to be display on the browser.
Once this value is changed the function must be recompile to take the affect of this feature. However, specifying in the REQUEST or DISPLAY commands like this can enable this feature again:
REQUEST FIELDS((#PANELDATA)) DESIGN(*DOWN) IDENTIFY(*DESC) EXIT_KEY(*NO) MENU_KEY(*NO) STD_HEAD(*YES)
