Error saving to file when saving a query in LANSA Client with Terminal Server

The following error can be generated saving a LANSA Client query to file using Terminal Server.

This is caused by a missing DAO path in your PC registry that is required for use when running Terminal Server with LANSA Client.


There is a link on the Microsoft Support Web site which describes the need to register DAO details when using Terminal Server. See Cause 1: DAO Is Not Properly Registered


  1. On the computer that hosts Microsoft Windows Terminal Server or the computer on which Microsoft Access is installed, click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type regsvr32 followed by the path to your DAO file. Enclose this path in quotation marks. For example, to register the DAO 3.5 library, use the following command:
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\DAO350.DLL"
