Director of Supply Chain Solutions Sales

Location: Downers Grove, Illinois preferable. Location has flexibility but needs to be near a major airport

The Director of Supply Chain Solution Sales will be responsible for demonstrating the value of the LANSA’s solutions to prospects, partners and existing customers. In this role, the Director of Supply Chain Solutions Sales has direct account responsibility and supports the sales organization (direct and in-direct) in conveying the value of LANSA’s solutions using their detailed knowledge of the product feature set, GDSN market and the application of best practices to match the product to the customer’s needs. The Director is responsible for business and technical assessment required to develop a solution that meets the customer requirements. The solution is married with an implementation strategy that will ensure that the customer derives value from the product in both the short and long term.

The primary focus of this position will be LANSA’s Master Data Management (MDM), Product Information Management (PIM) and Data Synchronization (GDSN) business offerings. These solutions are global market leaders for “behind the firewall” implementations. These solutions are cross industry with significant presence in consumer goods, alcohol and beverage, hardlines, food service and healthcare.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and close high value software deals and associated service delivery contracts
  • Provide product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers
  • Work with customers consultatively in conjunction with product managers to determine what their problems and requirements are for our services and products
  • Work with other sales team members to create powerful presentations and/or value cases that will highlight the features of our offerings
  • Provide effective responses to RFx questionnaires from potential customers
  • Support sales staff in any way possible to help close business opportunities
  • Work with Development group to communicate customer requirements and enhancement requests
  • Willing to travel 50+% of the time

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background with products and services with a software provider - Specifically with PIM, MDM, 1Sync, SA2, GS1 and/or GDSN
  • 5-7 years successful experience in the enterprise software/business application industry
  • Experience with complex negotiations and contractual terms
  • Strong and proven track record of personal sales success in the software industry and sound knowledge of solution selling principles
  • Experience providing product demonstrations and presenting to customers at all levels (management and executive)
  • Ability to take a consultative approach towards determining and understanding customers success criteria for our product and services
  • Ability and willingness to support sales staff with technical advice
  • Experience and ability to respond to RFI/RFP/RFQ via excellent written communication skills
  • Discover and build business alliances with potential partners and industry experts

The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal skills, and have strong personal integrity, good presence and credibility. He/she will have a solution sales approach, will have strong interpersonal skills, and will be able to communicate effectively up, down and across the organization. Finally the individual will embrace and reinforce the company culture throughout the organization and externally to customers and partners.
